Core Competencies:

  1. Email, SMS, Push, In-App Messaging: While strategy varies across industry and business, I'm well-versed in best-in-class program components and journeys that span the customer lifecycle. I have the most fun when leveraging multi-channel touchpoints within a program, because they really do go hand in hand in an experience.
  2. Deliverability: Deliverability is everything. If you can't hit the inbox, why bother? I employ best practices for identification, reputation, and content to make sure I get to the inbox and not the spam folder.
  3. Personalization: I LOVE sending targeted emails using data. It's super powerful in keeping an email relevant and driving engagement. Examples include a user's name, points program tier and # of points available, and purchase data.
  4. Automation: Sending emails when an action is taken on the site or at timed intervals drives extremely high engagement... and progression through the funnel. Surprisingly, my highest engagement drivers are retention nurture flows and post-purchase thank you. Cart and browse abandonment are a close second.
  5. A/B Testing & Innovation: How do I know what's working? How do I know what to change? What do I change it to??? I test everything. EVERYTHING. I've literally done 30+ iterations for a welcome series email, patiently testing and measuring to make it better, finally achieving a 67% open rate and 43% click rate.
  6. API & Data Feed Integration: In 2022, you have to personalize, which requires data. I have completed numerous data integrations, testing and troubleshooting to ensure success.
  7. Analytics & Reporting: Cold, hard numbers. It's kinda my thing. I've learned over the years that you can't prove success without it. I've built a program dashboard or two, plus am no stranger to developing monthly/quarterly/yearly KPI reporting.
  8. Content Development: Emails and sites need supporting content, both text and graphic. I'm a seasoned copywriter and know enough about graphic design to be dangerous. 
  9. Project Management: I've lead full site builds and projects from ideation to go-live and beyond, managing everything from requirements to budget. I even managed one build that had 13 different stakeholders. Might I say, they kept me busy!
  10. Strategic Planning: Understanding clearly how to hit my goals (and if they're realistic) is paramount. I prefer to build short and long term roadmaps by breaking down goals into attainable milestones to ensure execution surpasses expectation. 
  11. Site Design: No, I'm not a UX/UI designer. However, I do understand standard web design principles to make sites convenient and easy to use for visitors. For instance, you won’t find many websites prominently featuring the company logo in the bottom right section of the footer instead of the header. And yes, I've had to advocate for a search function and account login to reside in a site header during a build.
  12. Site Administration: I've managed multiple websites, one with over 1400+ active skus. I've integrated payment systems, including PayPal checkout, reconfigured shipping options, dressed sites for holiday, mapped out and implemented site navigations, configured and tweaked site search, managed promotions and discounts, and troubleshot technical disruptions and failures. 
  13. SEO & SEM: I've developed and lead strategies to drive both organic and paid traffic to sites through leading search engines. Differentiators for me included extensive key word research and continuous iteration. In fact, I created a local SEO strategy, which increased lab traffic, site visits and  phone calls for country, state and city landing pages by 233%. 
  14. GAP Identification: I observe and I want to understand process. This helps me to see where there might be breakdowns in efficiency or predict roadblocks and proactively develop ways to overcome them.
